Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman of Chinese Society of Cell Biology, Chairman of International Stem Cell and Precision Medicine Industry Alliance, former President of Tongji University, Chief Scientific Advisor of Genpine Biologics.

His scientific and technological achievements have been published in more than 150 international academic journals, including Nature, Cell, Nature Immunology, Nature Medicine, Cell Stem Cell, etc. He was awarded the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund in 1996, the Outstanding Young Scholar Award of the Qiuyi Science and Technology Foundation in 1997, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Scientific and Technological Advancement in 1999, and the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award in 2002. In 1999, he was awarded the He Liang He Li Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress.
