Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; President of the Chinese Society for Cell Biology; Chairman of the International Alliance of Stem Cell and Precision Medicine Industrialization; Former President of Tongji University; Chief Scientific Advisor of Yuanpin Biotech.

Academician Pei has over 150 publications in international academic journals, including Nature, Cell, Nature Immunology, Nature Medicine, and Cell Stem Cell. He was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 1996, the "Outstanding Young Scholar Award" by the Qiu Shi Science & Technologies Foundation in 1997, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in 1999, and the Second Prize of the State Natural Science Award in 2002.
