Battle “Epidemic” to show the responsibility
At the beginning of 2020, the outbreak of Xinguang Pneumonia, on January 23rd, Prof. Wang Jian went back to Tianjin with his family to visit his parents and decided to cancel his vacation on the same day when he noticed the development trend of the epidemic. On the second day of the first month, he rushed back to Changsha, and after arriving at the company, he quickly formulated the epidemic prevention and management methods, and led the R&D team to start the stem cell technology project to explore the treatment method of C.pneumonia.
After the company's “Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy for Crown Pneumonia Clinical Demonstration” project was approved by the Provincial Science and Technology Department for the first batch of emergency special projects to fight against the Crown Pneumonia epidemic, Prof. Wang Jian led the team to quickly carry out clinical research with a number of hospitals and made a number of major breakthroughs in less than a month. During the epidemic, Prof. Wang Jian led the company's team to prepare overnight, a batch of preparations in the early hours of the morning to Hunan and Hubei hospitals, can be used for treatment in the morning, to ensure the best therapeutic effect, 18 batches of 51 umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell preparations to save the lives of 19 patients with severe and critical illnesses, contributing to the scientific and technological resistance to the epidemic.

Meet the Expert: “Cell Craftsman” Has Been Plowing the Industry for Over 20 Years!
There are many firsts in the resume of Prof. Jian Wang, CEO of Genpine Biologics: one of the direct founders of the first stem cell bank in China, the National Tissue Engineering Stem Cell Bank; the first extractor of umbilical cord blood hematopoietic stem cells in China; and the first operating procedure for umbilical cord blood hematopoietic stem cell banks in China. --He was one of the main drafters of the “Quality Management Standard for Cell Banks”, and one of the first people engaged in the industrialization of stem cells in China! But most importantly, it is his 20 years of dedicated research and his great commitment to lifting up the dream of human health with small cells!
The recorded history of human beings is as long as 5,000 years, but the beginning of research on themselves is still in 1990, that is, from the study of human genes. Prof. Jian Wang said, “A large number of human diseases are non-extrinsic and have to be solved by internal mechanisms, from cells. So we started to study cells.” In the late 1990s, the concept of stem cells and regenerative medicine began to be proposed in China. It was also during this period that Prof. Jian Wang gave up the more fertile platform for basic stem cell research in the U.S. and resolutely returned to China to devote himself to the research of stem cells and regenerative medicine, and since then he has personally experienced and witnessed the development of the domestic stem cell industry. The poor results of traditional medical treatments for many intractable diseases have led to an urgent expansion of the demand for such new technologies as stem cell therapy.

Scientific research is a long and arduous process. As one of the earliest people engaged in the industrialization of stem cells in China, Prof. Jian Wang extracted China's first umbilical cord blood hematopoietic stem cells and directly created the first stem cell bank in China, and he was also one of the main drafters in the formulation of the first “Self-Regulatory Code for Quality Management of Stem Cell Preparation” and “Code for Quality Management of Cell Banks” of the China Stem Cell Industry Association, witnessing the development of the domestic stem cell industry. Prof. Jian Wang was also one of the main drafters during the formulation of the first “Stem Cell Preparation Quality Management Self-Regulation Code” and “Cell Bank Quality Management Code” of the China Stem Cell Industry Association, witnessing the breakthrough of the development of the domestic stem cell industry from 0 to 1.
